School Age Virtual Programs
Registration for Virtual Programs begins on February 21, 2022. You can register for programs through our calendar of events or click the direct link below for each program.
- Monday: Pixel art with the Raspberry Pi SenseHAT (tweens)
- Tuesday: Virtual animal show with Hands on Exotics (school age)
- Wednesday: Mulling over mysterious eels (school age)
- Thursday: Mad science virtual show: up, up, and away (school age)
- Friday: Virtual book bingo (school age)
- Saturday: Virtual kids discovery club: Zipline challenge at 11 a.m. and again join our Zipline challenge at 2 p.m. (tweens)
Starting March 1, you’ll be able to get started on Mission: March Break. Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to complete at least five (5) challenges by March 21, 2022 to be eligible for the Books and board games grand prize.
For Teens
- Pick up the Take and make craft kit from your nearby library branch. Inside you will find the materials you need to create a kaleidocycle. Program instructions will be available for you to watch anytime starting March 12 on YouTube. No registration required. Available for pick up March 12–20 while supplies last.
- Head over to Loafer’s Lake Park to complete the Escape Game at the Park! Your challenge: to solve a series of puzzles around Loafer's Lake Park to escape from an abandoned house.
- From March 12–20, enjoy a virtual escape box from the comfort of your home!
For Families
- Pick up a Seasonal Activity Kit from your Chinguacousy branch. Enjoy playing with giant memory cards or borrow snowshoes and head outside. Learn more about our Seasonal Activity Kits, free with your library card!
- Borrow an Ontario Parks pass or the Toronto Region Conservation Authority (TRCA) and Credit Valley Conservation (CVC) pass to enjoy the great outdoors!
- Cozy up and stream a movie from the comfort of your home with Kanopy, free with your library card.
- Enjoy our latest Story Walk at Chinguacousy Park and read "Hello, Rain!" by Kyo Maclear.
